Carl Gustav Jung

C.G. Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst and a pioneering figure in the field of depth psychology and analytical psychology. He introduced concepts like the collective unconscious, archetypes, and the process of individuation. Jung profoundly influenced psychology, spirituality, and cultural studies, making him one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century.

C. G. Jung saw that nature and each person contain many contradictory, opposing energies – some of which do not exist within the field of conscious awareness. He realized that we reach toward wholeness by recognizing and owning these often
contradictory, unseen, rejected parts of ourselves.

Jung felt that there is within each of us a powerful energy attempting to bring meaning and completeness to our lives. He called the disciplined search for the meaning of one’s life, and its relationship to the universe, the individuation process.

By joining the Maine Jung Center, you can join a community that is focused on this individuation process, no matter where you are on your journey.
